Michael J. Posillico
Executive VP Strategic Business Development
Michael Posillico has a variety of experience in all of the fields that Posillico serves. In 1984 he received his BS
from Clemson University in Civil Engineering. After completing his studies he began working for the family firm in the
Estimating Department where he began to learn the mechanics of the business and implemented the use of computers throughout.
After gaining the basics Michael began to learn the "field" and went to become the Project Manager on several high
profile projects including Posillico's first Nightime Reconstruction of the Long Island Expressway and the reconstruction
of the Northern State Parkway and Meadowbrook Parkway Interchange.
In 1991 after completion of the Northern State/Meadowbrook project Michael began the pursuit of Retrofitting the Asphalt
Plant that was the Heart of Posillico's Construction business into a combined facility capable of thermally treating and
recycling contaminated soils from tank and surface spills that were impacting Long Island landfills. He also launched Blue
Water Environmental Inc. which with the same approach that Posillico had for solving problems in the construction market
believed that could be applied to large complicated projects in the Environmental Field. Again gaining practical "field"
experience he oversaw many high profile Environmental remediation projects that required expertise in handling of various
hazardous waste streams, process systems, and sensitivity to community and ecological needs.
By the late 1990s Michael's reputation as a tenacious problem solver began to spread and he was called on to help navigate
complicated problems that were increasing in land use analysis and property transfer. With onerous laws and regulations
hampering contaminated property clean-ups and re-use he saw the opportunity to become a "Brownfield Developer" again leveraging
Posillico's "know how" in tradition construction and development with their developing expertise and reputation for solving
not only complex Construction, but also Environmental problems.
Today Michael has focused his efforts in "Brownfield" redevelopments including the Glen Isle project in Glen Cove, New York.
This project is one of 16 National EPA Showcase projects that will restore over 50 acres of severely contaminated waterfront
property into a vibrant, ecologically and economic sustainable community employing the most up to date technogies in Green
Building and Storm Water design in a Smart Growth community.
Michael continues to enjoy life with his family pursuing his love of the outdoors and in particular golf and fishing. He
has held various positions in local charitable organizations including President of the Farmingdale College Foundation.
Today Michael continues to try to make a positive impact through the Posillico Foundation and serving on community
organizations that are making a difference in the Markets that Posillico serves.
